Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It was constructed for easier passage through Dark Aether's poisonous atmosphere after the war with the Ing necessitated regular visits to the dark world. It was originally worn by the Champion of Aether , but was taken by the Ing after her death. Although she still takes damage from Dark Aether's toxic environment, it drops the damage rate from five units of energy per second to only one unit per second.

Dark Samus
Samus acquires the Dark Suit after defeating the Dark Agon Wastes ' energy guardians, the Amorbis , which ruptures the Dark Sphere and causes it to explode, revealing the Dark Suit encased within. Visually, the suit is arguably the first dramatic departure from Samus' traditional Suit appearance since the addition of the Varia's shoulderpads in Metroid II: Return of Samus. Most noticeably it features darker, more muted colors than previous upgrades, and replaces the traditional spherical features on her shoulders with rounded wheel- or disc-like protrusions. Two pointed struts protrude from the back, but these seem to be meant to support the Gravity Boost once acquired. Upon acquisition of the Gravity Boost , the Dark Suit's bulk increases slightly at the rear of the torso. At this point the suit rather resembles a Luminoth , with a near-spherical torso, minimal neck showing, and various red orbs dotting the exterior. It is also worth noting that these red orbs, prior to the acquisition of the Gravity Boost, are featured on her back in a triad closely resembling the Dark Amorbis' eyes; this is also similar to the three diodes on the back of the Fusion Suit , which is said to resemble Metroid nuclei. It also resembles the various visual aspects of Ing possession, especially possessed technology such as Quadraxis and the Ingsmashers. The visor's shape is also closer in appearance to Dark Samus 's visor. Dark matter attacks and extreme toxins will still injure her.
She was introduced in the video game Metroid. Samus Aran is an ex-soldier of the Galactic Federation who became a galactic bounty hunter , usually fitted with a powered exoskeleton that is equipped with weapons such as directed-energy weapons and missiles. Throughout the series, she executes missions given to her by the Galactic Federation while hunting the antagonistic Space Pirates and their leader Ridley , along with the parasitic energy-draining organisms called Metroids.
She was announced as a newcomer during the August 8th, Super Smash Bros. With the exception of the third method, Dark Samus must then be defeated on Frigate Orpheon. As with certain other Echo Fighters , Dark Samus is nearly identical gameplay-wise to Samus, with largely aesthetic differences. However, she has many basic animations that are different from Samus, a more standard roll which does not involve turning into a Morph Ball, electric effects instead of fire effects for most of Samus's fire-based moves, and different models for both the Morph Ball and Missile. However, Dark Samus's small advantages over Samus such as a slightly faster roll are considered to be less situational than Samus's small advantages over Dark Samus such as the ability to detonate enemy bombs with her flame properties, or a smaller hurtbox after rolling.
