Kevin Michael " GG " Allin born Jesus Christ Allin ; August 29, — June 28, was an American punk rock musician and songwriter who performed and recorded with many groups during his career. Known more for his notorious stage antics than for his music, Allin recorded prolifically, not only in the punk rock genre, but also in spoken word , country , and more traditional-style rock. His lyrics, which often expressed themes of violence and misanthropy , [6] polarized listeners and created varied opinions of him within the highly politicized punk community. Allin's music was often poorly recorded and produced, given limited distribution, and met with mostly negative reviews from critics, [7] [8] [9] although he maintained a cult following throughout and after his career. Allin promised for several years that he would commit suicide on stage during one of his concerts, but instead died from an accidental drug overdose on June 28, , at the age of

Nothing is as punk rock as your body. No swear word, political symbol, or fashion choice could outrage the general public as much as the fluids and waxes that your hideous beef shell oozes out on a daily basis. That GG lived so hard, behaved so repulsively, bled so profusely, and died so young will forever cement him as the most offensive man in punk.
Music has it's extremes. One the one hand it has Taylor Swift constructed niceness and pastel colours and then there's the dark underbelly of pain. It's been almost twenty-five years since he died, but he is still one of the most hated and villified "punk stars" of all time, he makes Marilyn Manson and Ozzie Osborne look like choir boys. Sid Vicious is a sweetheart compared to this man. His performances usually involved guzzling laxatives, stripping naked, excreting on stage, throwing his poo at audience members and then beating them up. It's a kind of performance art I suppose. Noteworthy in that he went one further than his idols, like Iggy Pop, rather than actually being musical, he's gone down in history as a crazy act. Jesus Christ Allin, as he was born in '56, had a very troubled upbringing. His dad thought that he would be the second Messiah, so insisted he was named after him. His older brother couldn't say Jesus though, and called him GG - and it stuck.
