But you know what? I like that Jesus is more complex than our comfortable stereotypes can accommodate. No, I tell you, but rather division! A Pharisee invited Jesus to come and eat at his house, which he did. The Pharisee watches all this and grunts to himself, Some prophet. Meaning, of course, that no man of God would ever permit such a sinful woman to touch him. Well, Jesus — who was a real prophet and knew exactly what this guy was thinking — tells him a little parable,. Once there was a man who was owed a lot of money by two different guys. And the guy decided to forgive both of them their debts — wiped them totally clean.
