Hitchen Lane Allotment Site

The site is rented from the Duchy of Cornwall and has to be accessed by pedestrian only from the top of Hitchen Lane. Vehicles should turn into Hitchen Lane from West Shepton and keep to Hitchen Lane by bearing left at the bollards which are position very close to the junction and are at the entrance to the house development to the western boundary with the Townsend Shopping Park.

Vehicular access and parking in Hitchen Lane is very restricted, however the site can also be accessed by pedestrian footpath from the Ridgeway Estate. At the top of Hitchen Lane between the house named Long Hours and No12, a private lane runs down to some waste land which in turn leads to the Allotment Site.

A grass path accross this land is maintained by the Town Council for access of Allotment Holders only which have a pedestrian Right of Way over the land, but that the land is in private ownership. The Allotment site has its own clean water supply.
